2 Corinthians 3:18
And we all, with unveiled face, beholding the glory of the Lord, are being changed into his likeness from one degree of glory to another; for this comes from the Lord who is the Spirit.
The Holy Spirit is the very Spirit of glory. He does not merely give glory (as though glory were something extrinsic to him and stuck to him like a postage stamp). He is glory. And the things in this world that make us think of glory: sunsets, noble heroes toiling in the wreckage of the World Trade Center, self-sacrificial parents, symphonies that swell the heart with praise. All these things are but images, pointers, reminders, of the Lord of Glory who is Author of all glorious things and inspirer of the hearts of men and women. Glory be to the Holy Spirit!
