Homily of the Day

Memorial of Saint Martha

In the first reading, Moses’ radiant face was a result of the transformation God had worked in him. A related passage, 2 Cor 3:12-18, suggests that “we [too] must reflect the glory of the Lord, while we are transformed into his likeness.” Think of all the holy men and women we know, prayerful people, people who work for others in the parish and our communities, those who struggle for justice in the streets, the many who do the task of evangelization by diligently working with the poor. Don’t they allow us a glimpse of Moses’ radiant face, an experience of God working in their lives? We honor these people by trying our best to follow their example.
