Do something that shows honor to a family member.

“Live with your wives in an understanding way…and show her honor as a fellow heir of the grace of life “ (1 Peter 3:7)

Everyone sat at dinner tonight and just laughed and laughed. What better way to show honor to each other? No one complained about what I served, everyone told corny jokes and listened to each other’s outrageous tales until tears of laughter ran down our cheeks. We helped each other clear the table and my children thanked me for dinner. *sigh*

I was also pleased to witness my daughter’s (wonderful) boyfriend hold the car door open for her. He took her backpack (she was going to soccer) and placed it into the car for her. Her younger sibs..yes…they were peeking out the front window…all witnessed him treating her with honor and it made a big impact on them.

Lord, help us to remember that every family member deserves honor. We are made in your image and likeness — that means we are special; help us to treat each other that way.
