Holy Heroes to Release Special Package for Lent

Hot on the heels of being featured on the front page of the Christmas issue of the National Catholic Register, Holy Heroes is making news again with a new product package to be released for Lent. "We had tremendous response to our new products for Christmas," said Ken Davison, President of Holy Heroes. "We had parishes use our catechetical coloring book, The Childhood of Christ, for Advent, and the Joyful Mysteries Rosary audio CD is selling very briskly, especially because both products are in English and Spanish. Our subscription package (in which a child receives a new audio CD every month for a year) is also doing very well. We hope our package for the Stations of the Cross will also be as successful in helping parishes and families teach their children this devotion."

The National Catholic Register highlighted Holy Heroes as one of several companies promoting high-quality children's products that teach the faith. Holy Heroes was formed by the creative team which produced the audio series for children called Glory Stories, which is still played weekly worldwide on the Ave Maria Satellite Radio Network and WEWN, EWTN's radio and shortwave arm. The audio products and companion coloring books ("The books are so the younger children can follow along with the pictures while they listen," said Davison) are produced by a nationwide team including the creators of the Catholic radio show Glory Stories (Davison and Jim Morlino), the producer of the motion picture Thérèse (Brian Shields), a virtuoso pianist and classical composer (Eric Genuis), and a handful of former Disney artists (John Webber, Caroline Spinelli, Enoc Castaneda, David Murray, and Ron Cohee). "We want children to see and hear beautiful music and stories of hope and holy people, and to learn that truth and beauty and goodness are relevant and possible to them, today," said Davison.

In addition to the Holy Heroes and Glory Stories products, Holy Heroes also sells The Altar Gang series of catechetical audio shows, with lots of catchy tunes and humorous dialogue with a Joyful covercatechetical message, which Shields produces. "My kids and my nephews have all ten Glory Stories CDs and they love them," said Linda of Gaffney, SC. "I knew I could trust the orthodoxy-and quality-of whatever else they were offering, so I just ordered three of each Altar Gang CD off the website, too." Fr Juan Diego Brunetta, OP, the Director of the Knights of Columbus Catholic Information Service, provides the theological review of all the Holy Heroes products.

Over the next 30 days, the new product packages for the Luminous Mysteries and the Stations of the Cross will be released, all bi-lingual in English and Spanish. Each package includes an audio CD with a companion coloring book.

Now is the time to check out the new products and the website http://www.holyheroes.com/. "We have a promotion for a free CD running right now, and later we'll probably offer the new Stations coloring book at a substantial discount, so that parishes, clubs, and moms with big families can inexpensively get just one CD with lots of companion books so all the children can follow along, but they won't have to share," said Davison, the father of eight. "You can listen to excerpts from every CD right there on the website, so you can choose just the ones you want, or order a gift subscription and receive one a month for a year. During Lent we're asked by the Church to strengthen our prayer life. What better Lenten resolution than to make that a family affair through incorporating the timeless devotions of the Rosary and Stations of the Cross?"
