The situation in places like Syria and Iraq may seem confusing and hopeless. Many are not even sure what is going on over there or the role of the Catholic Church in providing aid to millions of people who have suffered as a result of the conflict. In today’s episode, Michael is joined by Kevin Hartigan, Catholic Relief Services Regional Director for Europe, the Middle East and Central Asia to discuss the current situation in the Middle East, namely the many people who are displaced by the growing conflict in Syria and Northern Iraq. Mr. Hartigan shares what the Catholic Church is doing for those in the most terrible need and how, even in the most brutal of places, the light of Christ shines in the darkness.
If you would like to help those who are suffering in the Middle East, as well as in Europe and other places, please consider donating to Catholic Relief Services, Catholic Near East Welfare Association, or the Knights of Columbus. As well, do pray for all those who caught in the middle of this brutal conflict as well as those who trying to provide relief and charity.
