The Women Are Up To Something

We’ve been quite busy over at “Today’s Catholic Woman” and have all sorts of wonderful writers lined up to enrich your journey as a Catholic woman.  Lisa Hendey is our “Geek Gal” and welcomes your questions about anything from twitter to digital cameras.  Many of you know Lisa from her great work at Catholic Mom.  Pat Gohn is writing a weekly column called “Embracing the Catechism” and your love for your faith will surely grow under Pat’s guidance.  Soon to come is Carrie Macgillis with great information on scrapbooking — she has even inspired me to give it a try! — while Joan L. Kelly is writing a gardening series.  Have you ever planted a “Mary” garden?  Once you read Joan’s column you will surely be inspired to do just that.

Do you need a good place to start getting a handle on time management?  Mary Ceccanese has got you covered.  Need a nudge to “Go Green?”  Danielle will gladly show you how easy the first steps can be.  Looking for a yummy recipe to beat the kitchen doldrums?  You’ll definitely want to check out our “In the Kitchen” section where CE Senior Editor Mary Kochan is making a guest appearance with A Time-Saving Tip and a Cookie Recipe.

Another wonderful contributor to TCW happens to be Teresa Tomeo.  Teresa is a Catholic radio personality and author as well as a highly-sought out speaker.  Teresa is a media specialist and uses her years of experience to help each of us understand the impact of the media in our lives.  She is a dynamic speaker and her topics are both inspirational and enlightening.

Teresa’s 2009 schedule can be found under “TCW Events.”  You will want to make it a habit to check our events link regularly in the middle column of the channel’s front page.  If you’ve never heard Teresa speak, I highly recommend you check out her schedule to see if she will be in your area and then make a point to attend.  She is quite inspiring as she draws from her own personal experiences in the media and shares her return to the Catholic faith.

We at TCW are so delighted to announce that her personal testimony book, Newsflash: My Surprising Journey from Secular Anchor to Media Evangelist will be featured this weekend on the popular EWTN television program “Bookmark.”  “Bookmark” is hosted by Doug Keck and features Christian writers and their work as well as their faith journey.  Teresa shares both her tragedy and her triumphs through her honest revelations of how she was pulled in by the glitz and glamour of television, only to be humiliated through a very public firing.  Through it all, Teresa learned to rely less on herself and her skills and more on God and His graces.

Newsflash has been endorsed by many popular Catholic authors, speakers, and clergy and is ideal for personal use or for book clubs because of the resource and reflection sections found in back.

We hope you will get a chance to see one of our very own TCW columnists on EWTN this weekend!  Check your local guide for program times of “Bookmark” with Doug Keck.
