Submission Guidelines
Catholic Exchange welcomes submissions that explore the spiritual and practical aspects of living the Catholic Faith. We publish insightful reflections on prayer and devotions, the sacraments, saints’ lives, and many other topics. CE seeks to be a site that “breathes with both lungs,” providing a forum for Eastern and Western Catholics of different backgrounds who, with all their diversity, remain united within the Catholic Church and Her teachings.
Articles are generally 800-1200 words. Please use hyperlinks or simple, in-line citations for references (no footnotes, no bibliographies). Submissions may be edited for grammar, style, clarity, content, and brevity. It is not our policy to return edited manuscripts to authors before publication for their final approval. Upon publication, Catholic Exchange retains full rights to the article, including permission to reprint. While we prefer original pieces, please let us know if your submission has been printed elsewhere.
We expect all our articles to be fully written by the (human) author, though it is acceptable for writers to use AI for grammatical/proofreading assistance. We do check all submissions with an AI detector and use the results in our considerations for publication.
We welcome articles inspired by other Catholic content, such as books and films, provided that they serve our readers’ spiritual enrichment. We do not publish press releases or overtly promotional content.
While we endeavor to reply to all queries, due to the high volume of emails we receive, we are not always able. If you do not hear back regarding a submission within two weeks, please assume the submission has been declined.
We are unable to offer financial compensation, but we are happy to provide exposure to our broad public and grateful to our contributors for sharing their gifts for the glory of God and the edification of His Church.
How to Submit an Article
If you are an author new to Catholic Exchange, please fill out the form below, including your completed article, one-paragraph biography, and a publicity photo/headshot. If you are a regular or returning CE author, please send your completed article to submissions@catholicexchange.com.
Allow up to 10 business days for review. If the piece is time-sensitive, mark “urgent” in the subject line or along with the “Suggested Article Title” in the form below.
