Q&A WITH MYSTIC ALICJA LENCZEWSKA, PART 5
Continuing the theme of the fallen angels, I selected two long passages from the first volume of Alicja’s Journal, one from 1986 and the other from 1987. The abundance of words written during the mystical encounters may be surprising. It usually happens when the soul has advanced only a little in perfection; then the Lord deals with it very gently. His visits are frequent and last a long time, until the soul is sufficiently perfected that it can live only by the three theological virtues: faith, hope, and charity—as the Spanish mystic St. John of the Cross wrote. Yet, in order to climb Mount Carmel, we must walk the path of the Cross toward new life.
The example of this Polish mystic shows that human life is a primordial struggle between the forces of good and evil—a spiritual battle. When we turn to God for help, the former prevails; when we rely on our own strength, the latter gains the upper hand.
DO NOT GIVE FUEL TO THE EVIL SPIRIT
(Thursday, May 29, 1986)
†Control your tongue. A word has power: it can create good or evil. One must avoid words that do not create good—unnecessary words, words that stir up evil.
All opinions and judgments must be expressed very carefully, weighing every word. Hasty statements can be the seed of evil that grows and acts destructively.
One must take care that the words spoken are a source of good, that they create good, strengthen it, and spread it.
Therefore, when speaking about someone or something, one must rely mainly on perceiving the good and emphasize it. In this way, that good is strengthened and grows.One must not fight evil, because all fighting is evil and only multiplies evil.
One must create and develop good so that there will be no place for evil. The strength and greatness of good annihilates evil. Just as light annihilates darkness. It is enough to bring in light for darkness to cease to exist. It is similar with evil.
All effort must be concentrated on creating and spreading good—Love.
To embrace everything with love, and especially that which is not love, so that it may reign there and so that it may become love.
—But still, one must distinguish and call things by name—judge.
†First, however, one must truly discern. But man, on his own, without My help, is not able to discern. Therefore, caution and prudence are needed.
One must ask Me for discernment, for help. Not usurp the role of judge!
†The mistake lies in the fact that man is not able to rid himself of his subjectivism. He is unwilling to notice his own faults and gladly sees them in others. And he gladly reveals and exaggerates another’s evil. Sometimes even alleged evil.
And then it happens that the true creator of evil is the one who speaks about it and spreads it in this way, not the one who falls and struggles with his faults.
Speaking about the falls and miseries of others with a sense of one’s own sinlessness is precisely the greatest fall.
Evil can truly be overcome only with good, as your Pope [John Paul II] says. He knows what he is saying.
The greatest good that man can create is to go with love where it is lacking; where there is evil. To carry the light of Love there, where there is the darkness of evil.
Why bring light where it is already bright?
Such is the meaning of My parables and teachings in Holy Scripture about love of enemies, about turning the other cheek.
Such an example I gave with My life on earth and with My Sacrifice. In this way I defeated Satan—not by fighting, but by love.
THE MISERY OF MAN AND THE HEALING LOVE OF GOD
(Friday, July 31, 1987)
—Today You have made me understand, Lord, that man is not evil. He is only poor and defenceless. Indeed, he is completely powerless against the action of Satan, and hence his sinfulness.
The first disobedience in Paradise toward God stripped him of His protection.
And it was not God who expelled him from Paradise. Man went out on his own, because he listened to Satan. […]
How poor and unhappy are those who, knowing God, do not desire Him and remain alone, defenceless against the prince of this world. How great a mercy and a helping hand from the man in whom Christ is, they need.
Teach me, Lord, merciful love, so that I may never repay evil with evil when evil touches me. So that I may always be able to feel compassion and love. You gave us free will, Lord, because You wanted to have us as children, not as slaves. How You suffer over the loss of Your children who do not want to cry out to You. How much help they need—poor, blind, and deaf to Your Love.
†And is there enough love in you to open their eyes? Do you ask for such love with which you will go to the man who causes you pain? To the man in whom Satan is establishing his kingdom?
—We are all blind and powerless.
†But I am your eyes and your strength, and if you will, you will trample upon serpents and vipers that will leave the hearts of people freed by My Love in you.
For this I choose and call, so that I may act with your hearts in this world, so that I may embrace with love and free from the power of evil.
Why do you not love My children whom Satan destroys? Why do you withdraw and hide yourself among those who do not need help? Why?
Did I not choose you for this, give you power and love?
My child, come with Me. The path you will take through the world with Me is always a way of the cross. For the whole world is a cross and a Calvary, which people have chosen of their own free will.
And I came to this Calvary and to this cross to share it with them and in this way save them. And I need helpers—devoted and obedient, who do not make this journey through the world difficult for Me. They do not look back at themselves and at the glitter of Satan, but in toil and hardship give birth to My love there where they are. Do not look back at your wounds—I will heal them.
I have already healed them when they beat Me, humiliated Me, stripped Me of My human dignity, accused Me, and inflicted death on My body.
Then I healed all your pain of body and soul. Why is your faith so small? Believe, and you will feel only love and compassion, just as I do—even from the cross. Believe, My child, in the power of Love, who is your Father and the Bridegroom of your soul.
Behold, I have given you the power “to tread upon serpents” and scorpions and upon the full force of the enemy and nothing will harm you. Nevertheless, do not rejoice because the spirits are subject to you, but rejoice because your names are written in heaven. (Lk. 10:19-20)
