Need Some Wisdom?

James 1:5-6

But if any of you lacks wisdom, he should ask God who gives to all generously and ungrudgingly, and he will be given it. But he should ask in faith, not doubting, for the one who doubts is like a wave of the sea that is driven and tossed about by the wind.

During the course of daily living we all face situations where we need wisdom. Perhaps you need wisdom concerning a relationship at work, maybe your facing a career move that will affect your entire family, or your deciding which classes to take in college. Whatever circumstance you find yourself, God has something to say about it. He promises us that if we ask for wisdom he will give it to us generously and ungrudgingly. James says that we should ask in faith. In other words, we should put complete confidence in him and his ability to communicate with us. Our part is to remain faithful to what we know to do and at the same time actively seek out his wisdom in the Scriptures and the Catechism. We must also be alert to the fact that God just may use someone near you to give you the answer you are looking for. Today, ask God for wisdom and eagerly await the answer.
