In the great history of the Catholic Church, few popes have had the lasting impact and influence of Pope St. Pius V. You might have never heard of him, but this was a Pope who witnessed the crises of the Church amidst the Protestant Reformation and the growing strength of the Ottoman Empire.
Today’s short episode is guest hosted by Fr. Edward Looney who interviews Prof Roberto De Mattei, author of the new book Saint Pius V: The Legendary Pope Who Excommunicated Queen Elizabeth I, Standardized the Mass, and Defeated the Ottoman Empire.
Fr. Edward Looney recently joined us (listen here) to discuss his latest book, Meditations After Holy Communion. You can follow him on Twitter, Facebook or Instagram at the handle @FrEdwardLooney. His website is edwardlooney.com.
