DAILY DEVOTIONS, LIFELONG FAITH

Fight for Terri Schiavo’s Life Urgent Action Required!

15 Oct 2003

Population control comes in many forms. Regular readers of my column are well aware of population control schemes carried out in distant lands, funded by the U.S., and heedless of human rights.

Today, I wish to share with you a population control scheme being carried out on our shores. In Florida, to be exact. Terri Schindler-Shiavo has begun to be starved to death. Her life has been judged “not worthy of living,” as the Nazi's would have put it.

The solution is the same as that resorted to in the Third Reich, the same as any other population control scheme: Get rid of the person, in this case by euthanasia.

Yes, the Culture of Death has once again reared its ugly head in the U.S. But this is not about the right to die, it's about the right to live.

I am speaking of the starvation, by court order, of 39-year old Terri Schindler-Schiavo. She is scheduled to have her feeding tube removed today, October 15th at 2 P.M.

Terri is disabled. She is not in a coma, not in a persistent vegetative state. She is aware of her surroundings and has communicated that she does not want to be starved to death. Just two days ago, Terri's parents, Bob & Mary Schindler, released the following statement:

“We love our daughter very much and we want her home. Over the last 13 years, Terri has laughed with us, cried with us, talked with us, and even tried to get out of her chair. The accusations that Terri is in a coma or is a 'vegetable' are a lie.

We beg Michael Schiavo, and those working with him to end our daughter's life, to let her come home to her family. We will sign any agreement you want, giving you all monies related to Terri's collapse and any insurance money that may be forthcoming. You take the money. We just want our daughter.”

We must act now. I encourage you to do the following:

1. Phone Florida Gov. Jeb Bush and ask him to intervene again and save Terri's life. Call (850) 488-7146 (a comments line) and (850) 488-4441.

2. Ask Bishop Robert Lynch and his diocesan priests to protect Terri who is one of their flock. Please call the Catholic Diocese of St. Petersburg: (727) 344-1611

3. Urge President Bush and his administration to find and use a proper federal basis to save Terri's life: The White House: (202) 456-1414; US Attorney General John Ashcroft: (202) 514-2001; US Dept. of Justice, Civil Rights Division: (202) 514-2151.

4. Contact the U.S. Conference of Catholic Bishops, (202) 541-3000, and

encourage them to intervene, and to make a statement and to work on behalf

on Terri.

5. Let us pray for Terri, her parents, family and friends. Let us pray that this atrocity will be stopped.
