Big things continue to happen with Catholic Exchange’s unique Catholic Scripture Study program.
Going Global!
In other exciting news, Bishop Peter Jugis of Charlotte, North Carolina has granted an Imprimatur for the Leader’s Manual for the CSS Group Study Program as well as a letter of approval and endorsement. And this fall, we will have new groups in Belgium, England, Australia, The United Arab Emirates, Canada, the Philippines, India, Russia, Indonesia, Africa, Israel, and China as well as many other groups throughout the U.S.
CSS is a project and division of Catholic Exchange, which we are proud and grateful to note is the highest rated Catholic website on the World Wide Web according to Alexa. Thanks to web technology, we team members of CSS reside in different areas around the U.S., while the website and accounting offices for CSS are in Encinitas, California, where Catholic Exchange is headquartered. Gail Buckley, hard-working and industrious Executive Director of CSS, lives in Charlotte, NC. A key member of the team, Fr. Patrick Winslow, who does the weekly lectures for the studies also resides in N.C. The principal authors of the studies, Dr. Scott Hahn and yours truly, live in Steubenville, Ohio and Seattle, Washington, respectively.
Join the Adventure!
CSS is growing so fast it makes our heads spin. Last year, the pilot program for the CSS Group Study included almost 80 groups nationwide and one in Japan participating. Seven Regional Directors around the U.S. are helping new Study Leaders begin the program in their parishes and a new Director of International Relations is assisting those outside the U.S. In addition, Study Leaders have many new features including their own WebPages for uploading documents to the Internet, resources for keeping in contact with their students and/or group leaders, maps, pictures and documents that compliment the study that they are doing; lecture notes for each week’s lesson as well as downloadable audio or video lectures, and links to other sites that offer additional information for the studies. Finally, we offer our “Ask the Author” feature whereby CSS participants can email questions to the authors of the studies.
CSS is beginning to take wing and we thank God for blessing our efforts. If you are interested in getting involved with this exciting program, please email the lovely and gracious Miz Gail Buckley the Indefatigable at gail@catholicscripturestudy.com. And keep us in your prayers! There's more to come!

Cool New Studies!
The Catholic Scripture Study (CSS) team is delighted to announce a number of exciting changes and developments are taking place as CSS continues to gain enthusiastic students and spread across the globe.
In most recent developments, we're pleased to note that our study of the Gospel of John has recently received an Imprimatur from Bishop Robert Brom of San Diego, California. Written in 28 lessons, our study of John takes you into the depths of the most profound of the four gospels and helps you to see the richness with which John communicates the good news of Jesus. It shows some of the amazing ways in which the New Testament is hidden in the Old Testament and the Old Testament is fully revealed in the New. And like all our studies, it connects the biblical text with the teaching of the Church today and give you tools for applying it to your life so that, in you too, the Word may be made flesh.
Also in the pipeline is our brand new study of Exodus. It will be made available for this fall’s study program and has recently been submitted to the Bishop’s office for an Imprimatur as well. Our study of Exodus will take you far beyond the Charlton Heston images we have rattling around in our minds and show you the amazing ways in which God's salvation of our Fathers in Faith points the way to Christ Jesus and our own salvation through the sacrament of his body, the Church.
