Despite his long hours of physical labor, Isidore always made time for daily Mass and prayer, often rising early to pray before beginning his work. Tradition holds that angels were seen assisting him in the fields so that he could balance both his work and his spiritual life. Known for his kindness to the poor and his love for animals, Isidore lived simply, trusting in God’s providence for all his needs. He died in 1130, and his reputation for holiness quickly spread. Canonized in 1622, St. Isidore remains a powerful example of how ordinary work, done with love and faithfulness, can lead to extraordinary holiness.
