40 Days for Life Ottawa Midpoint Rally: A Huge Success

Almost 300 people showed up to the 40 Days for Life midpoint rally in Ottawa yesterday between 2 and 3 p.m., enjoying bright sunshine, the chance to get to know each other over coffee and doughnuts, and presentations from campaign leaders and participants.

One participant wrote, “This was an important day because most of the vigilers don’t personally know each other. By the time it’s all said and done, there will probably be over 1000 participants in the campaign.

“Even when we see one another, rarely do we introduce ourselves when we arrive. We just get down to the business and the battle. There’s no time for chit, chat. We’re not there to talk. We’re there to make spiritual war. So, it was good for us to congregate and get to know one another, to listen to the amazing stories that have occurred thus far, and to draw encouragement and confidence as we enter the final two weeks of the campaign.”

Nicole Campbell, 40 Days for Life Ottawa Director, gave a passionate speech, while Father Galen Bank of the Companions of the Cross and pastor of St. Morris Church, offered encouraging words to the assembled vigil-keepers.
