St. Vincent of Saragossa was born in the late 3rd century, likely in Huesca, Spain, and served as a deacon under Bishop Valerius of Saragossa. Known as the protomartyr of Spain, he was arrested during the Roman persecution under Emperor Diocletian. Despite threats and torture, Vincent refused to surrender the sacred books or renounce his faith in Christ. His courageous witness and unwavering devotion to God greatly inspired early Christians. After enduring cruel tortures, he died a martyr’s death, firmly proclaiming the Gospel to the end. Though little is recorded of his words, his life testifies to a love for both Scripture and service, exemplifying steadfast courage in the face of persecution.
