Luke 2:51
And he went down with them and came to Nazareth, and was obedient to them; and his mother kept all these things in her heart.
The elemental building block of all human society, including the divine society which is the Church, is the family. God immerses us, not in a heady whirl of miracles and wonders, but in the ordinariness of the family. Why? Because God is a family, so to speak. He is a Trinity of Person in One God. So when he became incarnate in Jesus, it was only natural that he should enter the human family in communion with his stepfather Joseph and his mother, Mary. In so doing, he hallowed the family–your family–and made it sacred. Today, thank God for the sacred gift of your family.
