We rest in trust!

Psalm 91:1-2

He who dwells in the shelter of the Most High,

who abides in the shadow of the Almighty,

will say to the LORD, “My refuge and my fortress;

my God, in whom I trust.”

The Sabbath is a day for rest because it is a day for trust. We do not rest easily when we live in fear. If we do rest easily, it is because we know we are safe. Every Sunday is a reminder that the Lord has won us safety from the ultimate fear: death. And if he has done that, then all our other fears are small potatos. Today, thank God for the rest he has won for you by sleeping of death and by rising again on the third day.
