Since we have the same spirit of faith as he had who wrote, “I believed, and so I spoke,” we too believe, and so we speak.
The very first thing we do as Christians is believe and speak. The two go together like love and kisses, or like breathing in and out, or like the deity and humanity of the Incarnate God. And so the very first words of the Creed are “We believe” and they are meant to spoken, chanted, even shouted aloud in public assembly by the Body of Christ. “For man believes with his heart and so is justified, and he confesses with his lips and so is saved” (Romans 10:10).
