Trust in God

Nastaya had a long absence from school and was not able to play with her friends after suffering from the effects of the accident at the Chernobyl Nuclear Power Station.

“When the accident of the Chernobyl station took place, we went to my parents near Chernobyl. Now Dad is ailing and so is Mom. I put Nastaya's headache and kidney troubles to the fact that we used to go on vacation there. Now she's undergoing a treatment. May God help her recover her health. We put our trust in God.”

Nastaya's mother: “We need nothing more…health and peace. Everything else will come. The most important thing is that there would be calmness and the children would grow up normally. The greatest happiness for a mother is that her child be healthy and have a smile on the face.”

The whole family is fervently praying for Nastaya's healing, trusting Him to make her completely whole.

Nastaya: “Yes, I was in the hospital, for I had kidney troubles and the headache. But now everything is all right. Indeed.”

Nastaya: “God means love for me. And I pray that everyone would be alive and healthy and no wars in the world.”

Nastaya

“…I was in hospital, for I had kidney troubles…”

Nastaya's mother

“We put our trust in God.”

God is answering their prayers and healing Nastaya. Now, her everyday life is again like that of the other children in St. Petersburg. She plays with her friends and takes ballet lessons; although, she's a bit behind the others in her class due to her long absence. Yet, it is the spiritual life that makes Nastaya somewhat different.

Nastaya's mother: “The most important thing in life is Nastaya and the family and to see her grown-up and good-hearted, honest…and may God always help her.

Nastaya lives with her mother and father in communal lodging in a block of flats in St. Petersburg, Russia, Three families live in the flat with a common kitchen, bathroom, and toilet. Nastaya and her parent live in one room.

Nastaya's father: “We live just like everybody else…the usual way of life. It could have been better, but, well, the most important is kindness, and love, and the child.”
