The Treasure Chest of Fun & Fact was a Catholic comic book provided to Catholic parochial school students between 1946 and 1972. This online digital collection is a project that includes fifteen of the first eighteen volumes running from 1946 to 1963.
The interface is a little clumsy, but with a bit of clicking you'll be able to read these well-written and colorfully illustrated artifacts from what many consider to be a golden age of Catholic culture. Saints lives, adventure stories, catechism lessons, morality tales, it's all here!
The Treasure Chest collection is a project of The American Catholic History Research Center and University Archives at Catholic University in Washington DC. If comics aren't your thing, there's lots of other gold to be mined at the archive.
