Big stone portions – sky and rock and ocean
Made without a fracture – Cyclopean –
Early April hurricanes blow through them –
Once a day I think of all the dead
Yesterday an equinoctial storm
Many trees fell down and came to harm
Faces I remember stood between –
The dying are not slaughtered, but redeemed
All for them the building blocks put in
A temple of the mason cherubim
Until the final setting of the stone –
The dead are those who raise the roof of heaven
