The Last Temple

By Pavel Chichikov

In the Medresh it is read:

Shlomo's cedars built the first

Gan Eden's trees will build the last –

As Ezekiel also said

No sacrifice of blood can flow

But light from light from seed will grow

Run like unguent out of trees

Above the world, above the sea

Lissome branches lift and stir

Each watchman and each forester –

Cherubs hold their wings before

Their eyes unblinded and adore
