Thank You CE

Editor’s Note: The following letters are in response to Mark Shea’s article, “The Hard Hope of Christmas.”

Dear Catholic Exchange:

Just finished reading yet another really thoughtful, prayerful, and insightful editorial which you wrote and wanted to stop to send you a note of thanks. Since the first time I opened “Making Senses of Scripture,” I have been touched by the gift the Spirit has given you to see the greatest wonderings and longings of our hearts (well, at least mine!).

So, thank you for all you do to keep us focused, impassioned, and in love with our Lord. May you be particularly blessed this Advent and Christmas season and sustained in this ministry.

Barbara Goss

Barbara:

Thanks for your kind words! May our God and Father of our Lord Jesus be blessed in his Church this Christmas! And may he bless you and yours!

Dear Mr. Shea:

I just want to thank you for all you've done for His Church. I've read quite a bit of what you've written in time past but somehow this “Hard Christmas” article today in CE hit me in a more moving way. I thank God for you and appreciate what you're doing for Christ's Church. May His coming Peace be with you and wishing you a very blessed Christmas.

A grateful reader,

Minh Nguyen

Dear Dr. Nguyen:

Thanks so much. God is closest to us in the hard times through his crucified Son, Jesus. May he be with you this Christmas!
