There are friends who pretend to be friends,
but there is a friend who sticks closer than a brother.
The old saying is, “You can pick your friends, but you are stuck with your family.” Jesus, in contrast, picks his family and sticks closer than family. It’s one of many divine paradoxes, such as losing your life to find it, suffering from a friend’s faithful wounds, and life coming out of death. Today, stick with Jesus and you will find him sticking with you.
