Spring Fever

Here in Fresno, we're on the countdown to summer vacation, with school ending on June 1.  In my home, Mom's as bad as the kids!  This is the time of year when I contemplate my summer projects (many of which are sadly left-over "beginning of the school year" projects).  This is the time of spring to be planning children's summer activities and camps, perusing and finalizing summer reading and summer "bridge" educational activities and planning summer vacations.  Many camps offer "early bird" registration discounts for those who make an early commitment.

In my home, we limit organized summer activities.  Since I'm fortunate enough to work from home, my boys can anticipate long days spent playing out back, swimming and even getting bored!  Summer is a precious break from the over-scheduled school year rush and a time to reconnect as a family.  I'm hoping for a few family camping trips, some books on CD listened to together as a family, and several backyard campfires, complete with s'mores!

Have you begun to think about your family's summer plans?  Be careful though, you might just find yourself with a case of spring fever as bad as mine!
