MONTREAL – The Quebec government plans to put an abortion clinic in the Hotel Dieu (House of God) Hospital in Levis in the Chaudieres- Appalaches region of the province. The Montreal Gazette reported Saturday that the government has allocated $3.2 million to increase availability of abortion in Quebec where about 30,000 babies are aborted every year.
Quebec health ministry spokesman Alain Vezina said “Right now, about 75 per cent of Quebec women who want an abortion obtain one. Our goal is 90 per cent.”
Referring to Quebec's Catholic heritage, Campaign Life Coalition National Organizer Mary-Ellen Douglas said: “Any increase in the killing of the preborn is a despicable act but from a province with such Christian roots it is difficult to understand how they could have slid so far down the slippery slope. To have an abortion mill inside a hospital called “God's House” is the ultimate blasphemy.”
