(AgapePress) – A Virginia-based pro-family group wants homosexuals to know the truth — that Christ's Church can set them free.
CNSNews reports that this year's weeklong “Gay Days” event in Orlando, co-hosted by Disney World and Universal Studios May 29 through June 3, included pool and circuit parties, a homosexual vendor fair, and “Gay Day” at Disney World. The gala draws an estimated 60,000 people to Disney World on the first Saturday in June. Disney, joined for the first time this year by Universal Studios, has refused to yield to Christians and pro-family activists to denounce the annual event as a tacit endorsement of the homosexual lifestyle.
The Family Policy Network, a pro-family group based in Forest, Virginia, took advantage of what has become one of the country's largest gatherings of homosexuals, confronting those who were visiting the theme parks with the good news that Jesus Christ can deliver them from a destructive lifestyle.
FPN president Joe Glover says his group flew an airplane banner over both Disney World and Universal Studios theme parks promoting their website. The banner read: “Jesus Christ: Hope for Homosexuals.com.”
Glover says the message to homosexuals is about love. “On the first hand, we're very interested in communicating the Gospel to people in order to change people's lives,” he says. “We are just as interested in communicating the Gospel to people in this context who are not ready to receive the Gospel.”
According to Glover, FPN established the website hopeforhomosexuals.com to encourage practicing homosexuals to “come out” of their destructive lifestyle and to accept the love of Christ. The website contains testimonies from former homosexuals, God's plan for salvation, and articles warning of the dangers of leading a homosexual lifestyle.
“We want them to know that it's love and concern that causes us to be involved in fighting the homosexual agenda — not opposition toward people, but opposition toward something that is destroying people's lives,” he says.
Glover says it is important to communicate that to people as much as communicating the Gospel itself. He believes people who put themselves in a destructive lifestyle are trying to fill a “God-sized void in their lives that can only be filled by Jesus Christ.”
FPN, while getting positive reactions from pro-family groups about the demonstration in Orlando, also is taking some heat from homosexuals and advocates of same-sex relationships, Glover says. “We had a lot of people thanking us for what we stand for,” he told CNSNews, “but there have also been some critics. But the critics will always be there.”
A spokesman for the Gays-Lesbian-Bisexual Community Center, a group promoting the Orlando event, said FPN's actions were “nothing new” and would not undermine their efforts to promote same-sex lifestyles.

Clinton Years Tied to America's Increased Acceptance of Homosexuality

(AgapePress) – A spokesman for the American Family Association attributes Hollywood's increased promotion of homosexuality as the primary reason Americans are growing more tolerant of the lifestyle.
A recent Gallup poll showed 52% of Americans now consider homosexuality to be an acceptable alternative lifestyle. A survey in 1992 revealed only 38% of Americans felt that way. Ed Vitagliano is director of research for AFA. He points out that since the earlier survey, America endured eight years of the Clinton Administration, which he says was friendly to both homosexuality and pornography.
“There can be little doubt that the administration under Bill Clinton for eight years did more to promote homosexuality than any administration, probably all administrations dating back to the cultural revolution, which hit … beginning in the [19]60s,” Vitagliano says.
The pro-family expert says deviant behavior was encouraged during Bill Clinton's two terms. “President Clinton and Al Gore were instrumental in bringing homosexuality to the forefront, legitimizing it [and] normalizing it,” he says.
Vitagliano says the Gallup poll results show a dramatic turnaround among Americans. “The views of Americans within less than a decade have almost completely reversed on many critical issues with regards to the homosexual agenda,” he says. “I think there can only be one answer for that, one cause, and that is the wholesale promotion of homosexuality on both small screen and large screen — television and the movies.”
According to Vitagliano, Hollywood had a friend in the White House during the Clinton years and greatly increased its pro-homosexual programming during that time.
