CHARLESTON, WV At a rally being held last week at the state capitol in Charleston, Rev. Thomas J. Euteneuer, president, Human Life International, is challenging West Virginia health officials to recant misleading testimony regarding Senate Bill 439.
The pending legislation, which will be voted on by the Senate on Wednesday, would effectively deny parents the right to any and all vaccine exemptions. The bill also adds the chickenpox and hepatitis B inoculations to an already extensive list of mandatory shots.
Comments Father Euteneuer: “Along with Mississippi, West Virginia is the only state to forbid religious vaccine exemptions. This bill goes even further by prohibiting physicians from granting medical exemptions according to what they believe is best for each patient. Senate Bill 439 would also make West Virginia the only state to force homeschoolers to be immunized.”
In testimony related to SB439, state health officials denied that aborted fetal tissue is used to culture the chickenpox vaccine. HLI vaccine expert Jameson Taylor counters this assertion: “The chickenpox vaccine’s own product insert clearly states each dose contains ‘residual components, including DNA and protein,’ of cells acquired from aborted babies what the pharmaceutical industry refers to as ‘human diploid’ cells. Why are state health officials trying to hide this fact? Because they know most parents don’t want their children injected with cells from aborted babies.”
Adds Taylor, “No medical or scientific necessity requires this vaccine be cultured on fetal tissue. Furthermore, the current chickenpox vaccine has an average failure rate of 66 percent.”
Concludes Father Euteneuer: “It is deplorable that the West Virginia department of health is attempting to mandate these vaccines without an exemption. That, on top of this, state officials are misleading the public about how these vaccines are manufactured is inexcusable. State officials have a moral and legal responsibility to uphold parents’ constitutional right to make an informed decision about the medical care their children receive. They’re taking the fruit of the poison tree and making us eat it.”
