Play-Doh, Star Trek, and Scripture

Dear Mr. Shea,

I just read your recent article.

So, how much Play-Doh did you have to consume to figure out that the attraction is much the same as that of a potato chip??? 😉

I was delighted to see that you are a child of the StarTrek generation. And, I love the way you made your point, here. I wish I'd thought of that! On the other hand, have you considered Capt. Picard? It took this article of yours to make me see why I had such an interest in Picard. His phrase, “Make it so, Ensign” always intrigued me. Now, I see that it's only a modern reading of Luke 1:38 and John 2:5. Conclusion: I think the brash, boisterous, bawdy Kirk is an excellent picture of the Israel of the Old Testament; whereas the pacific, persistent Picard is more a picture of the New.

Thanks for inciting me to “connect-the-dots”.

Yours in Christ,

(Mrs.) Carol Luscomb

Carol:

It takes tremendous insight (not to mention considerable ingenuity) to discover the Trekker hidden in the heart of Our Lady. I salute you! 🙂

As to Play-Doh: I refuse to answer on the grounds that it may incriminate me.
