Planned Parenthood’s Hypocrisy Knows NO Bounds

“In her December 20th statement, Planned Parenthood President Gloria Feldt railed against Trent Lott's purported racist comments, but then conveniently forgot to mention Planned Parenthood's own racist past,” said Ed Szymkowiak, national director of STOPP International, a project of American Life League. In a December 1939 letter, Planned Parenthood Founder Margaret Sanger wrote to Dr. Clarence Gamble, one of her regional directors, discussing her Negro Project, “We do not want the word to go out that we want to exterminate the Negro population and the minister is the man who can straighten that idea out if it ever occurs to any of their more rebellious members.”

Feldt's statement discussed “racial politics of the 1940s.” Szymkowiak challenged Feldt: “Before jumping on others for their questionable remarks, Planned Parenthood should formally apologize for their own despicable and bigoted past. Their bigotry has never truly ended, it has just expanded; now Planned Parenthood targets preborn babies of all races for extinction as evidenced in their recently released Planned Parenthood Federation of America 2001-2002 Annual Report.” According to their report, the number of abortion procedures performed by Planned Parenthood has dramatically increased, while the number of referrals to adoption agencies continues to decrease.

“It is outrageous that Planned Parenthood is allowed to continue practicing its brand of bigotry against all preborn children, and what's worse is they fund their deviant actions with your tax dollars,” stated Szymkowiak. “Taxpayers need to ask themselves if this is the kind of program they want funded with their hard-earned money and, if not, let their representatives in Congress know that they want it stopped.” STOPP International will be releasing more information about Planned Parenthood's annual report in 2003.
