(AgapePress) – Intimidation has become a new tactic used by Planned Parenthood in their efforts to dissuade pro-life protesters.
Clinic staffers are taking pictures and movies of protesters, as well as their vehicle license plate numbers. They claim this is being done to protect the clinic personnel from violent acts. Cathy Brown of the pro-life youth group Why Life? calls that statement ridiculous.
“All life is sacred, even the lives of abortion doctors and anyone involved in abortion,” she says. “Their lives are very sacred. A lot of them don’t know the truth. We’re about getting the truth out there and helping these people understand that what they’re involved with is wrong, it’s immoral, it’s the taking of human life.”
Brown says the real violent acts are being committed by the people who work for Planned Parenthood.
“Everywhere they go passing out their free condoms, birth control pills, and information about abortion they’re jeopardizing the lives and the souls of our nation’s young people,” Brown says. “When you really stop and look at who’s doing the harm, any rational-thinking human being would realize that it’s Planned Parenthood that’s doing the harm.”
Meanwhile, an association of abortion providers is about to launch a nationwide campaign promoting the French abortion bill RU-486. RU-486 had been used in Europe for a dozen years before receiving U.S. government approval last year.
As reported over the weekend in this space, two-million dollars worth of ads will begin appearing in July in People, Self, and eleven other magazines through the end of the summer. A National Abortion Federation spokeswoman says the campaign will be paid for entirely by private groups, pointing out that the New York company marketing the pill has no role in the ads. Cosmopolitan, Glamour, Mademoiselle, and Marie Claire will also be carrying the ads. Only Redbook has declined to accept them.
