Nobody Ever Told Me the Truth

Nobody Ever Told Me the Truth

Dear Jeff Cavins and everyone at Catholic Exchange:

I have been visiting your website almost daily for the last few months. I have to tell you that I am not Catholic; but, I have been learning about the Church on my own for the last two years.

About two years ago I accidently had the TV on EWTN while Household of Faith was on. I heard Kristine Franklin say something about the Bible that I had never heard before. She said the Catholics didn't add books to the Bible; it was Martin Luther who took them out. That got my attention.

I started watching that program plus Life on the Rock and The Journey Home. I have also visited many websites and just last week finally started your Bible study. My husband of 17 years is Catholic. My only excuse for not joining the Church in the last 17 years is because NOBODY EVER TOLD ME THE TRUTH. Thanks for putting the truth out.

I also want to help your ministry. I would like to send you a check for at least $15 per month for the next year. I know that if all 10,000 people who use your Bible study would send at least the same amount, $150,000 would help greatly.

Thanks again and God bless,

Vicki Espinosa

Homily for Barbara Olson

Dear Catholic Exchange:

THANK YOU THANK YOU THANK YOU for printing the homily given by Fr. McAfee at the Mass for Barbara Olson. After I heard that excellent homily on television I tried to find it on the internet without any success. (I was to the point of calling his parish to see if I could get a copy.)

It was also good to see so many Catholic Masses broadcast on networks other than EWTN. Many thousands of non-Catholics got to experience the beauty of the Catholic faith.

Thanks again.

Dear Susan:

I'm glad you appreciated seeing that homily at Catholic Exchange.

For those of you who missed seeing it in our Touched by Grace section, you'll find it here.

Sincerely,

Will Send Prayers (We'll Take Them!)

Dear Catholic Exchange:

Thank you for sending me your plea about financial support. But, unfortunately I must say, that I have absolutely no chances to help the Catholic Exchange by money, but just by prayers.

The reason is, that I live in Moscow, Russia and have just $175 per month. From this funds I have to pay for my flat, and this is very expensive in Moscow, to help my parents (they live in one of Russian regions and they're monthly income is just $60 for two), and at least to buy books and food.

So, as you may see, I cannot help you the way you asked. But I can pray for you and your donors, as I already did.

Let our Lord bless your service,

Olga Rozhnikova, OP

The Bible Study is the Ticket

Dear Catholic Exchange:

I'm a student at Texas A&M university and am very excited about this Bible study. I've never participated in a book-by-book Bible study before and surely never led one. However just last week a friend and I decided to begin the study on a regular basis.

The A&M Catholic community is awesome and I've never known so many people completely on fire for God. Currently, while we have a topical Bible study available, there isn't a detailed book-by-book study available for Catholics. I feel that there is both a need and demand for one, and perhaps Catholic Scripture Study will be the means.

Please keep me updated on any resources you have for Bible study group leaders and program coordinators. While our study is starting with just two students there are many possibilities for the future years.

Thanks,

Chris
