Nehemiah!

Nehemiah 13:31

Remember me, O my God, for good.

At first glance, it a weird prayer to ask that Omniscience “remember” you. But of course, Omniscience also tells us that there can be those to whom he will say, “Depart from me. I never knew you.” So Nehemiah is not far off here. Not that God really needs to be reminded of us. But that we need to be “remembered” in the special sense that we ourselves “remember” those we love. We seek for God to call us to mind with love and special fondness for all eternity. For when he does, this is Heaven and we shall see him face to face–for good.
