Lincoln, NE — Bellevue abortionist LeRoy Carhart is listed as a staff physician on the web site of Women's Health Care Services; the abortion facility in Wichita, Kansas owned by late-term abortionist George Tiller.
“Nebraska's most notorious abortionist, Carhart, has hung out his shingle with the nation's most notorious partial-birth abortionist — Tiller,” said Julie Schmit-Albin, Nebraska Right to Life Executive Director. “Carhart claims to do abortions through all 'legal' stages in Nebraska; we wonder what he does when he is in Tiller's facility which is known for committing the latest term abortions in the country.
“We know that the language in Doe v. Bolton (the companion case to Roe v. Wade) defines health so broadly as to allow abortion for any reason at any stage of development and that is what allows George Tiller to commit abortions through the last trimester of pregnancy,” said Schmit-Albin.
“Nebraska Right to Life begs the question: is LeRoy Carhart committing abortions in Kansas well into the third trimester; even though he claims to be limiting himself to the point of viability in Nebraska?
And if he is committing later term abortions in Kansas; how do we know he isn't doing them in Nebraska?”
