Washington, DC — Nationally-known musicians Ani DiFranco, Bruce Hornsby, Joe Henry, and Blues Traveler's John Popper will perform at a January 19 benefit concert at Lisner Auditorium on the campus of George Washington University in Washington, D.C.
The event, hosted by pro-abortion activist Gloria Steinem, commemorates the 29th anniversary of the Supreme Court's Roe v. Wade decision, which legalized unlimited abortion in the United States.
Proceeds will benefit the action fund of Voters For Choice, a pro-abortion group that promotes and funds the political candidacies of abortion advocates.
Voters For Choice had previously announced plans for a Sept. 25 benefit in Washington, D.C., featuring Popper, Henry and Spearhead's Michael Franti. The event was called off in the wake of the Sept. 11 terrorist attacks on the United States.
