Pavel Chichikov
Manifesto, kingdom come
Frontiers closed to charity
Fortified, the royal tree:
Dies irae Jerusalem
Manifesto, darkness come
Shut behind a midnight wall
Our Savior in a voice lamented:
Dies irae Jerusalem
Manifesto, wrath to come
Doors of winter latched and locked
Something in the frost has knocked:
Dies irae Jerusalem
After David comes his son
Then division one by one
And all of history unspun:
Dies irae Jerusalem
Elijah and Elisha come,
Jeremiah in the well,
Nazareth a broken shell:
Dies irae Jerusalem
Out of Bethlehem is borne
Donkey's burden, judge's scorn
Rocking in a quarter moon:
Dies irae Jerusalem
