Loyola University in New Orleans Finds Students Placement for Fall Semester

From Loyola University's President:

Loyola University New Orleans has closed for this semester and will reopen in January 2006. Our 27 sister Jesuit institutions have generously offered support by making arrangements to accept Loyola students this fall semester. Arrangements with LSU in Baton Rouge have also been made for our students to attend LSU for the fall semester. First year law students will be able to attend the University of Houston. Second and third year students will be able to take courses at institutions listed on the Association of American Law Schools web site.

The university has set-up temporary administrative offices in Alexandria, LA. The mailing address is

Loyola University New Orleans

Central Louisiana Business Incubator, 1501-A

Suite 148/150

Alexandria, LA, 71301.

A 1-800 number is also being established and will be posted as soon as we know it. More information will be forthcoming to answer the many questions of students, parents, faculty, staff, and others. Please be patient as we set up our communications and staff to continue administration operations.

Announcement for Faculty and Staff:

Loyola University New Orleans staff and faculty will be paid through the fall semester. For those with direct payroll deposit, your payroll check will be deposited as usual. For those employees who do not have direct deposit, please contact by mail the

Loyola administrators working in the administrative offices in Alexandria will soon have more information and details regarding employee health benefits with Blue Cross for those who are temporarily living out-of-state. A 1-800 number is being established for employees who have questions. As soon as we know this number and have more information, it will be posted on the AJCU web site, our temporary emergency web site, and our blog. Please be patient as we set up our communications and staff to continue administration operations.

Our Jesuit colleges and universities are sensitive to the needs of Loyola New Orleans students and are committed to helping them in any way they can in this time of great need. Parents can be assured that any payments already made to Loyola New Orleans will be honored. It is difficult at this time to speak in detail about other financial matters, but parents and students can be assured that every effort will be made to ease their financial burdens. We will continue to support the Loyola student community as they move forward with their academic plans.
