Let the Light In!

Romans 8:38-39

For I am sure that neither death, nor life, nor angels, nor principalities, nor things present, nor things to come, nor powers, nor height, nor depth, nor anything else in all creation, will be able to separate us from the love of God in Christ Jesus our Lord.

Today’s inventory of non-obstacles to the love of God in Christ Jesus is pretty darn exhaustive.  Not just death and life (which would seem to cover just about everything) but everything else in the universe and even the supernatural realm (“powers” is a term denoting supernatural created beings) is unable to stand in the way of God’s juggernaut of love for us.  He means to love us and he will let nothing stand in his way—-except one thing: the thin barrier of our free choice to receive that love.  He is like sunlight, effortlessly vaulting 98 million miles to leap straight from heaven to our eye.  Will we lift our tiny eyelid and let the Light in?  It’s up to us.
