Galatians 5:14
For the whole law is fulfilled in one word, “You shall love your neighbor as yourself.”
What’s the difference between a lawyer and a saint? A lawyer spins the 10 Commandments out till they are as vast and impenetrable as the United States legal code. A saint takes the whole of the law and boils it down to one command. Of course, some lawyers are saints, such as St. Thomas More. But he got to be that way by devoting himself to the one command of God, not the zillion words of human cleverness. Today, seek holy simplicity and love.
