Kevorkian Hits Silver Screen: Euthanasia Activist Featured in Movie Documentary

LOS ANGELES — Dr. Jack Kevorkian's life story is to be the subject of a new feature-length documentary. Directed by Oscar-winner Barbara Kopple, the film is expected to portray Kevorkian in a favorable light.

The movie will depict Kevorkian's work as written by him and his two close associates, Neal Nicol and Harry Wylie.

Kevorkian has been working on the autobiography, aptly named The Life of Dr. Death. Kevorkian, 76, is serving a term of 10 to 25 years for a second-degree murder conviction for killing Thomas Youk, who had Lou Gehrig's disease. Jack Kevorkian boasts of having helped over 130 people kill themselves. 60 Minutes aired the videotape of Kevorkian assisting Youk's suicide in 1998.
