Viewer's often ask “Why did they put that (offensive scene or language) in a movie”?
The U.S. National Catholic Register currently reports on a growing family-supportive video industry. A number of companies are offering Hollywood movies on DVD for sale or rent to families and individuals that can't stand the offensive scenes and language in otherwise good movies.
“So often when you see nudity or a sex scene in a movie you ask yourself, why did they put that in? They could have done away with that,” the Register quotes Dave Miller, a sales representative with Bowman Distribution in Taylorsville, Utah, and a father of five. Many other parents and even their children have also repeatedly been asking themselves that same big why? for years as they view the latest popular movies.
CleanFilms is one of about a dozen such U.S. companies to offer these altered versions of major motion pictures. Bill Aho, chief executive of another clean DVD company, ClearPlay, said, a Wirthlin Worldwide poll revealed that “58% of all Americans are interested in watching popular Hollywood movies that have been edited of all graphic violence, nudity and profanity.”
