He’s Not a Private God!

Malachi 1:5
Your own eyes shall see this, and you shall say, “Great is the LORD, beyond the border of Israel!”

Living, as we do, in a secular world, it becomes dangerously easy for Catholics to live in our little Catholic world with “our beliefs” as though the truths we proclaim are only true at Mass or in the company of like-minded people.  But this is not so.  God is God of the world, not just of our comfortable little Catholic mental ghetto.  Every now and then, he makes that acutely apparent by working a miracle or knocking down an Iron Curtain without bloodshed.  But even without these spectacular manifestations, we should not need to be reminded that God is great even outside the “border of Israel.”  He is great everywhere.  Always.  Whether people realize it or not.
