Hatchling

by Pavel Chichikov

In the brash of winter leaves

Robins shelter

Under hard frost

Shade in summer

Warmth in winter

High and low they never die

All at once –

And some live on

To lay their skyblue eggs

See how they scatter

At the footsteps

Of the ceaseless traveler

Mindless glory is creation

And the sky

Is like an egg that hatches suns

Hatchling, hatchling

In My hands

I warm you for a while
