Get to Heaven

Dear Catholic Exchange:

I am in a parish Bible Study and the main leader espouses that everyone in the USA will not gain salvation unless they believe in Christ. She believes this because of the numerous churches throughout the country and does not place this same condition on the Third World. Is believing in Jesus an absolute mandate to enter into heaven? What is the Catholic perspective?

Dear Mrs. Mollen,

Peace in Christ! I have attached hyperlinks which I think will give you more than enough information to answer your question.
