For freedom Christ has set us free; stand fast therefore, and do not submit again to a yoke of slavery.
The greatest temptation is to prefer what is good over what is best. The law was good, but Christ is best. In Paul's day, many reactionary dissenters could not bear to leave behind the law and demanded that all believers join them in clinging to it. Paul withstood them, declaring that the law pointed to Christ and was not an end in itself. We still have to make the choice between good and best today. Seek the best and you will get what is good thrown into the deal.
