Free From the Love of Money!

Hebrews 13:5

Keep your life free from love of money, and be content with what you have; for he has said, “I will never fail you nor forsake you.”

Sunday, the Sabbath, the Day of Rest, is a little sacrament of freedom from the love of money—that coldest and haughtiest of paramours—and of the deep peace of contentment that the saints know.  Like the man said, “That money talks, I’ll not deny.  I heard it once.  It said, ‘Goodbye.'”  God will never say goodbye.  That is the secret of the peace of the saints.  This Sunday, rest in that peace and be content with what you have.
