Forth the Day

By Jonathan Hunter-Kilmer

long, deep breath

to drink the day

Yoursor mine

the spirit lay

ease in shadow

brightness fling

specks of sun

and edge of leaf

all the best of

our belief

unexpected sorrows fly

unrepented egos die

safe within Your arms I still

walk reflection of Your will

daily, morning I can see

prayerfully for misery

has no place in world You made

but I insert Adam's frayed

uncreation paradise

in Your passionate device

sleepy I reset my eyes

to a day with You surprise
