“If anyone wishes to come after me, he must deny himself and take up his cross daily and follow me.” Luke 9: 23
is the lifetime gift
from our loving God.
Only then can I follow Him.
How do I gain the strength
to carry such a load?
Deny yourself says He.
Reject greed for charity,
eschew arrogance for modesty,
lose lust and find love,
subdue pride,
let humility emerge,
reject revenge,
embrace forgiveness,
be less judgmental,
more merciful,
direct passion into compassion,
become less
so He can become more.
The cross then
becomes bearable,
