Christian College Hosts Pro-Abortion Musician

WASHINGTON, DC — “Why is a Christian college hosting a musician who supports abortion?” asked Sara McKalips, assistant director of Rock For Life (a division of American Life League). “Messiah College should be alarmed to learn that a musician it is hosting on campus supports the killing of pre-born babies.”

On December 14, the Student Activities Board of Messiah College, near Harrisburg, Pennsylvania, will be hosting a concert by the pro-abortion musician, Aimee Mann. Students at Messiah are upset that a Christian college would use student money to bring in an entertainer who has actively supported abortion and are asking the school's administration to stop the concert. McKalips, a recent graduate of Messiah, has informed the Student Activities Board. According to McKalips, the board will not cancel the concert and is looking forward to Mann's performance.

“I'm outraged that my school is bringing in a musician who supports abortion,” said Michael Smith, director of the Harrisburg Rock For Life chapter and a student at Messiah College. “Messiah's motto is 'Christ Preeminent'. If Christ is truly preeminent on campus, they will cancel the Aimee Mann concert.”

Aimee Mann earned a spot on a pro-abortion list compiled by Rock For Life for donating a song to Safe and Sound, a compilation CD benefiting the Feminist Majority Foundation's National Clinic Access Project. This project seeks to make access to abortion clinics easier for women.
