By Pavel Chichikov
Visit often, do not slacken
Scar on scar obscures the world
Who can see me through these keloids?
Do not be revolted by me
Flagellated, scarred by torture
God as man all glory forfeits
Scar that still obscures my skin
Tabernacle covered in
Scar of gold, scar of fire
House of thick and obdurate wire
Leprosy of plated gold
Prisoner in prison held
But visit, come to me alone
When sanctuary workmen leave
Every compass shows my name –
Aloft the wounded dove is brave
